Course Offerings

Music Course Catagories

Performance:

These courses have a clear goal of a performance at the end of each trimester. Interested students are encouraged to register for all three trimesters of these courses as instructors develop the ensemble over the duration of the academic year. Students with irreconcilable schedule conflicts may request an Individualized Study in order to continue participation in the group. These courses do not count toward students' 5-course limit.

Workshop:

These courses provide a “hands-on” learning experience. NCSSM Fine Arts Instructors have embraced the concept of the “blended classroom,” and technology will play a large part in content delivery, collection, and assessment. These courses do not count toward students' 5-course limit.

Lecture:

These courses have the look and feel of a traditional lecture course. Students receive a strong dose of the instructor’s passions and knowledge on the subject matter in the context of an engaging classroom experience. These courses do count toward students' 5-course limit.
