Orchestra

The NCSSM Orchestra is a large ensemble of string players (violin, viola, cello, double bass). The ensemble is open to all string musicians with some prior experience on a string instrument, regardless of skill level, but it is recommended that players have at least two years of prior music study. The focus of the Orchestra will be to develop strong collaborative sense, musicality, and technique. Students will study and perform literature from a variety of styles, genres, time periods, and cultural perspectives, and students should expect to give 2-3 performances per semester.
